Bath flakes in a full bath or a foot soak. The slowest and the most pleasant, and the easiest way to make a wind-down feel like an actual break rather than a task. Around twenty minutes.
The original, and the most concentrated. Best on damp skin after a shower, on legs, stomach or the soles of the feet. First-timers sometimes notice a tingle, which settles with use or with a little water.
Magnesium blended into a moisturiser. Gentler on sensitive or dry skin than a neat spray, and it doubles as the body lotion you were going to use anyway.
The targeted one. A roller ball puts it exactly on a tight neck, shoulder or calf with no mess and nothing on your hands, so it works at a desk or in a bag.
Most people use it daily, usually in the evening. There is no loading phase and nothing to time precisely. The routine that works is the one you will still be doing in three weeks.
Legs, stomach, shoulders, the back of the neck, and the soles of the feet, which is the classic. Avoid broken skin and freshly shaved skin, and keep it away from your eyes.

Magnesium chloride dissolved in purified water. Ours is USP grade and comes from an ancient Permian seabed in the United States. You apply it to skin rather than swallowing it, which is why people who find magnesium pills hard on their stomach tend to look at it.
The Pure Magnesium Oil 12 oz spray is the one most people begin with, and it is the most versatile. If you would rather not spray, a roll-on is the easiest possible start, and a lotion is the gentlest on dry or sensitive skin.
A light tingle on first use is common with a concentrated magnesium spray, particularly on freshly shaved or very dry skin. It usually settles as your skin gets used to it. If it bothers you, dilute it with a little water, apply to damp skin, or use a lotion or cream instead.
Whenever it fits, but most people build it into the evening because that is when a routine actually sticks. After a shower, before bed, or straight after training. Consistency matters more than timing.
